Some circumstances necessitate a referral to a tertiary care facility where, while hospitalized, your animal can be monitored closely, administered supportive care, and have surgery performed if needed. Dr. Miller and Dr. Parks obtained their veterinary degree from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine (NCSU-VTH) and they have maintained close relationships with their mentors at the teaching hospital. Therefore, we feel confident in referring cases to the NCSU-VTH in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The large animal hospital at NCSU-VTH accepts both routine appointments for specialty diagnostics and examinations, in addition to medical emergencies. At the NCSU-VTH there are board certified specialists who have completed advanced training in their respective areas of expertise. Specialties include, large animal surgery, large animal internal medicine, radiology, theriogenology (animal reproduction), and ophthalmology.
